The Defender 90 was supposed to go anywhere. A friend took one on the Rubicon. It didn't make it. He went back to Land Rover, and demanded a refund because it didn't "go everywhere" as advertised. They didn't believe him. So they sent Reps to drive it - and couldn't make it through the Rubicon. He got his refund.
Your review made me seriously want to go drive one! Much easier to get around and park than the roughly 1-ton footprint of the 7k plus lbs 2012 SVT Raptor I have now. Especially after my wife dealing with DMV over my Raptor continuing to be classified as a commercial vehicle since it has an “open”bed (covered by a tonneau which is considered not inhabitable since it’s not a camper shell )

Measuring the depth of standing water is a great trick! I loved your Discovery, too; but never knew about it leaving you by the side of the road!!

And should be MUCH better on fuel! If you don’t need to haul big things, it’s a great option - and still fun as hell to drive, honestly.
